Amanda Bossard graduated from high school in the year 1992, and started her studies in marine science at Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage. Bossard began her commercial seafood career in 1999, after she began working on the ship F/V Sunset. This 65' schooner that was converted into an ice-fish tender was owned by Murat Aritan. Aritan has been involved in commercial fisherman since 1993. Bossard was married to Aritan in 1999, and the couple have teamed up to fight for their business. They believe in conservative, sustainable managing of the renewable resources for seafood. In 2007, she became a mother to two kids Bella aged 3 as well as Andre 1 Bossard then returning to living in Philadelphia and opened an online direct market wholesale distributor of seafood named Otolith. The husband of the business has a lengthy experience in the industry of fish that often means they stay separated from each other for five months or more. This is when they are focusing on their environment and financial targets. As of July 2016 Bossard and her daughter Isabella age 12 and son Andre aged 10 returned to Southeast Alaska annually each summer as deckhands during the summer wild salmon harvest.
